Best. Mask-Fest. Ever.
« on: September 09, 2014, 07:33:38 PM »
It seemed to me that this MASK FEST was the smoothest one yet. In past years there were a number of last-minute problems, mix-ups and conflicts, but this time around everything seemed to fall into place with a minimum of migraines, worry lines and stomach acid. Everyone (humans and monsters alike) was in a good mood, having fun and working together to make it a great show. It may have taken a few years of trial-and-terror to work out the bugs and convention gremlins, but it was well worth it: MASK-FEST is now working like a well-oiled brain machine straight from Dr. Frankenstein's lab!
It's always wonderful to get to visit with so many ultracool monster fans, horrifyingly talented mask artists and all around awesome people.  But I think this year had the best overall attitude of FUN yet!

I figured it out. How come this MaskFest was the best yet? It was the E.A. masks!

It was indeed Doc!  Even though there was no museum this year, it was more than made up for with all the new artists that made their Maskfest debuts. The fest has been great since it started 5-6 years ago, but it's really developed into THE celebration of the art of monster masks and is easily my favorite weekend on the entire calendar year. Can't wait 'til next year.

It was really a great time, and I was also impressed with the new talent at the show.
