Awesome review, Jupiter! I'm pretty sure we had that one in the 70s; the raised stitching was pretty unique.

I just created a new topic elsewhere, but Trick or Treat Studios is having a one-day only Labor Day sale for 15% any item using this code: TOTSLD. Might be time to pick up that Kong mask at a discount for those who don't have one yet.

'Good review, fun cutaways, jupiter2. Your local newspaper should
offer you a seasonal column. 'Sorry to hear that your Topstone
Monster is drying up on you. Handle it with great care from now on,
since you don't believe in foam-filling.

That's a nice copy, Madkahuna. Is that in your collection?

Heres a new one that I just got this week, Kelly Mann Witchdoctor.  Maskahuna posted his copy a few pages ago. It's an incredible mask and a unique subject.

'Not mine. It was out here for foam-filling some years ago.

'Awesome score, Josh! I'm happy to see that Kelly is still producing characters from his "Zombie Island" series.

What were the other masks in the "Zombie Island" series?

Oh man, I'm getting too old for memory tests!

There may have been four or five characters in the line
but I only have images of three ~

It was a very atmospheric webpage, complete with spooky sound effects.

Another one that just showed up on the doorstep this week. This is a VXX Crazy Mixed Up Zombie from the 1964 film "The Incredibly Strange Creatures Who Stopped Living and Became Mixed-Up Zombies".
This was David Lady's copy and can be seen in his 10/19/15 episode of The Mask Fan Attic

According to David Lady there were 4 made: 3 in this style and 1 in green. Its certainly a rare one to come across, especially given how sought after Darrell's masks are these days

I've never seen the movie, but that's a great copy, Josh!

How's Dr. Lady doing? I sure do miss him around these parts...

'Crazy cool ghoul, Josh. You certainly beat the odds on scoring
such a rarity. I see elements of The Phantom and Shock Monster
in its design. I've never watched the movie either, Doh. Given
the "talent" involved, it can't be much better than the super-8
films I used to make as a teen.

Awesome, Josh! Thanks for posting that.

Sorry for the lack of a new video this week. I was a bit preoccupied with Maskfest.

I'll try to add some highlights after a few days to decompress. I did conduct an interview regarding a mask, which I'll include in my next video!

The Incredibly Strange Creatures Who Stopped Living and Became Mixed-Up Zombies is a terrible movie. I think a lot of the cultural cache comes from the title, which is certainly one of the most insane titles for a film ever. It falls into a genre of film I call "Baffling & Boring". You spend half the time saying "wtf?" and half the time trying to stay awake.
If you like MST3K they did an episode featuring this movie, available here: .
The full movie is also available on Youtube here:

The best photos of the original mask that I've been able to find can be seen here:
http://magiccarpetburn.blogspot.com/2008/10/incredibly-strange-creatures-fantastic.html

As for the mask itself, Darrell did an outstanding job with what I feel is a challenging subject. He captured the look of the movie makeup but also emphasized the most prominent details, such as the nose, missing eye and teeth. He also used a full wig for the hair and, as a result, this is one of the best haired masks I own. It really does approximate human hair. One of things that I love the most about all VXX masks is that they look and feel like masks. This one is cut to wear and I can easily get it over my head.

Thanks much for the links, Josh! Now I have to decide if I want to watch it with funny commentary or not... no way do I want to sit through it twice.
