1982 Distortions Unlimited Heavy Metal and Surprise Friend!
« on: February 26, 2017, 08:31:11 AM »
Wanted to share some pics of my 1982 Distortions Unlimited Heavy Metal alongside Ed Edmunds FINAL Mask of the Month...The Last Andromeda!  Heavy Metal is one of my favorite golden era pieces.  This particular copy is a 1982 first run paint job big copy.  The Last Andromeda is a HUGE piece and I placed them side by side for comparison to see how big Heavy Metal is. I really love Ed's final mask of the month he sculpted and thought it was genius he started DU with Andromeda and ended the series with his son....the Last Andromeda!

Wow, the Last Andromeda is quite large. The Heavy Metal mask is on the larger side, and the Andromeda has it beat by a good amount. Nice Distortions scores Matt!

Distortions still holds the record for scariest alien masks ever.
MonsterMatt has the proof right here.

These are great! The Creetonian Elder and Last Andromeda were such a great way to wrap up Monster of the Month. Heavy Metal looks awesome, though I have to admit, I'm still puzzled by his name.
