'Made for each other
« on: June 14, 2017, 02:36:53 PM »
Due to ongoing board issues, this quickie is more of a test than anything
else to confirm whether I can still post multiple images here ...

Our subject shall be notable mask pairings. Some were just destined to
be together. In certain circles, it might even be considered an offense
to have one but not the other!

These two lovebirds are the obvious front runners. Even their creators'
names rhyme: DP and Nisi! Poor Jack was so spooked about copyright
infringement, he hardly ever made any copies of his sensational BRIDE ~

These two saved the universe for us on numerous occasions
but only because they stuck together like glue ~

In ads, catalogues, and our collections, these relations appear
together constantly ~

It's a shame DPS never released their masks of this legendary twosome.
Think of the "comedians vs monster" movies I could've produced on super 8 ~

If you don't know by now that there were two different CREATURE masks
made for the 1954 movie, you're ordered back to spooky school!

These golden oldies first met cinematically in 1943 and though the meeting
was anything but cordial, they've been inextricably linked ever since ~

This creepy character hardly needs his restraint mask to look any creepier ~

Mother and child reunion is only a motion away ~

'The third and fourth stages of Horror Sanctum's ROT series. If you
have an image of stages one and two, do post in reply ~

Released only a year apart, Don Post described his TIMBERWOLF as
"a mask that a man or a woman could wear" ~

Speaking of which: these eerie oldsters were only in production together at
DPS during the mid 1970s. I only know of two sets remaining in existence ~

Whether viewed as contemporaries or a natural progression from one to next,
they've been slithering through mask history for as long as our previous couple ~

'In tribute to Lon Chaney's two greatest monster roles ~

Matchmaking duties are now turned over to you. Buddy up your favorites and
post some pics ... and let's hope you don't have the same technical setbacks
as I did earlier!

Wonderful photos, Maskahuna! I'm not sure I have any "pairs" of my own, however.

I'll have to mull it over...

The DPS Laurel and Hardy are great likenesses! I also dig Sam's ROT masks. I'd also like to see the first two. Great pics Maskahuna!

Found 'em! Luckily I still hoard catalogues like a miser ~

Thanks for the replies, gents.  :)

Though I don't have any sets like these in my meager collection, I can probably think of a few.

For instance, I'd say Be Something Studios male&female Fang Face springs to mind.

And let's not forget the other duos from Be Something, Killer Wolf and She Wolf...

...And the Predators, as well.
