Plucked from the pages ~ The well traveled H.S. WOLFMAN
« on: June 24, 2017, 10:00:53 PM »
There I was in 1988, browsing at a local newsstand, when what should
jump out glaring back at me from the front page of a national tabloid?
The Halloween Society WOLFMAN!

It was Forrest J Ackerman's copy, prepared especially for him, but it had
vanished long before his world famous collection was posthumously dispersed.
'No telling where it is now and to my knowledge, only six others like it were
ever made back in the '80s.
Of those six, only one is known to have remained in southern California
where The Halloween Society was based. The single portrait I have of it
is in black&white but this particular copy has made public appearances
at numerous Halloween-related events over the years ~

It's visible in profile as part of The Halloween Society exhibit at Fangoria's
Weekend of Horrors convention, circa mid '80s ~

I used to have a super duper deluxe copy, cast in thick reinforced latex
and finished with multi-fibre hairwork ~

At some point it had glass eyes too. It may be in a collection overseas by now.
I've lost track ...

MaskGuy had a copy which he displayed right on his office desk
at home in West Hollywood ~

At last report, it was owned by someone else in the Philadelphia area ~

For a look at our next one, we must head over to Universal Studios Florida ~

There behind glass stands a full figure of the HS WOLFMAN
to give tourists a thrill ~

A casting is also held by a haunted attraction in New England and has
been used extensively in promotional photos ~

Our last known copy is/was in Ohio's Horror Hotel. I have no image
to show you but it can be seen in Dr Lady's Collector's Guide. If you're
able to page through and find it you've now seen every copy produced
in the edition, something I could never offer before in any previous post!

Do you have a line on any of the missing masks? If so, reveal their whereabouts.
My old records could sure use some updating. Click here for notes on the
HS WOLFMAN's troubled creation ...

... and guard your precious throats. The bloodthirsty beast may come
lunging for them someday!

What a super wonderful expose of that elusive hairy beast.  That is one Wolfie I would love to have in my collection someday, but just to see these Wolftastic photos is sooooooooooooooooo exciting !   Thanks so much Maskahuna for putting together this fantastic post !  Love it !

Great detective work. Just like when people track the locations and histories of 6 known Duesenbergs.
