Don Post Studios Cousin Eerie
« on: July 12, 2017, 08:48:15 PM »
Hey everyone wanted to share the newest / rarest addition to enter my collection...
Don Post Studios Cousin Eerie!! 😀This piece has unknown origins but most likely comes from a rare blank pulled from the unreleased/long neck Cousin Erie mold. This copy has real hair applied to it compared to other copies that have the sculpted hair exposed. ( which this copy still has but is covered up) I wanna thank Robert Paredes for setting me up with this piece and being great to work. Also a big thanks to one of my best mask buds and brother Freddy Loper for his vintage craftsmanship on the this piece.

Thanks for looking

Jimmy

'Great color choices and finishing on that Eerie. What a loss to all of us
that the mold sat unused and forgotten since the 1960s ... but what a
relief that it survived DP's many mold purges over the decades. Thanks
for the images, shape1188.

Doh!

Thank you fellas, Freddy loper did a fantastic job on the colors he put into this along with how he layed the hair on. Very unique.

That Eerie mask has always been one of my favorites.  Just curious, the eyes are crossed in the color photos but look uncrossed in the black & white shots.  Is it two different masks, repainted eyes, optical illusion...?

Hey Cathy or Rob :) thank you! it's one of my favorites as well. I have his counterpart as well that needs to be finished soon ;)

It's the same mask just shot at different angles creating the illusion the eyes look a bit cross eyed LOL

This time it was R and not C.  I keep forgetting to initial the posts I make.  So, optical illusion.  Since I'm designated as a Newbie, I'll chalk it up to my inexperience.  Thanks for clearing up my confusion, and again, great mask!

Thanks Rob! I appreciate it very much.

The way the mask was painted along with how I shot the mask gave off the wonky looking eyes  :o ;D I wish I has 2 LOL looking forward to doing another piece with you guys  :)

take care,
