Monster Moodboard: WIP: The Rat King

My next mask is The Rat King. I'll have more info about the concept for him in some upcoming posts, but for now I just wanted to show you how things are going. Here's a concept sketch:

I actually have a very special crown design planned for him (what you see in the drawing was just a quick sketch to fill out the drawing) and I might make a reliquary bust stand for him as well. Here's the sculpt so far:

My camera makes it look like there's some funky party lighting going on in my studio. Sadly that is not really the case.

The nose changed from the sketch after I found some better close up images of rat noses on the interwebz. The clay teeth are just place markers. I'll likely make them out of resin and attach them. I think I'll make them thinner as well, more like the sketch.I've been averaging about 2-3 hours a day on this guy with everything else I'm working on. I'm hoping to have him ready to mold shortly after Christmas. More info on him in a couple days!
